Ed’s successful and distinguished career in the Air Force was followed by senior positions in the private sector leading and advising firms working with the Defense Department and commercial industry.

Mr. Shirley is the former President of Augusta Westland Helicopter with over 30 years of public sector experience at the senior executive levels within the Department of Defense and commercial industry. He is widely recognized for documented successes in setting productive performance policies and making excellent executive decisions in the areas of administration, personnel management, defense acquisition, government contracting, aircraft maintenance, aerospace engineering, supply, budget, construction, finance, information technology, and aircraft operations. He has been an International Negotiator with experience in foreign military sales, joint ventures, defense and intelligence matters, and government contracting.
Ed completed a successful career in the Air Force, rising from Basic Airman to General Officer. He is a former fighter pilot and veteran of Vietnam, as well as other armed conflicts abroad. Ed is a graduate of the United States Air Force Academy and holds an advanced degree from the University of Southern California.
